Two Hurt In Single Vehicle Crash On I-70

VIGO COUNTY, Ind –Just afternoon today (1/29/21) Indiana State Police were called were called to a single vehicle accident in eastbound on Interstate 70 near the three-mile marker.

Troopers say that 57-year-old Michelle M. Rowe, of Muncie was driving eastbound near the three-mile marker, when her vehicle left Interstate 70 for an unknown reason.  Rowe’s vehicle then rolled several times, coming to a stop upside down and facing westbound in the eastbound lanes.

A passenger in the vehicle, 43-year-old Lynn A. Morton, of Athens, Tennessee, was ejected from the vehicle.  Troopers say that Morton was not wearing her seatbelt.

Rowe and Morton were taken to Regional Hospital for treatment.  Their injuries are not believed to be life threatening.

Drugs and alcohol are not believed to be a contributing factor.

Indiana State Police reminds all drivers and passengers to wear their seat belts, and that the seat belt is designed to secure the occupants of vehicles against harmful movement that may result from a collision or a sudden stop.
