
INDIANA – The Department of Workforce Development has released couty by county unemployment numbers for March.
Lake county in northwest Indiana had the highest rate of 5.3% followed by Vermillion County at 5.2%.
Sullivan County was in 10th place at 4.5%
Vigo County was in 17th position at 4.1%
Clay County was in 22nd position at 3.8%
Parke County was in 27th position at 3.7%
Putnam County was in 38% position at 3.5%
Hamilton and Dubois counties had the lowest unemployment rate in the state at 2.4%
The state average is 3.4%
These rates are expected to increase for April due to the coronavirus pandemic.
