IMS Not Canceling The 500, Yet

SPEEDWAY, Ind. — The coronavirus has already forced IndyCar to cancel their first three races of the season.

As the CDC continues to stress social distancing and avoiding large gatherings of people, IndyCar has also decided to eliminate testing dates through May 10th.

That decision cancels the normal Indy 500 oval testing session set for April 28th along with four other testing sessions at other tracks across the US. That’s also significant because the GMR Grand Prix is scheduled for May 9th.

The Indianapolis Motor Speedway reaffirmed Tuesday that they are not canceling the GP or the Indy 500 just yet.
