PARKE COUNTY, Ind. – The Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) has announced that State Road 236 will close just over 2 miles east of the State Road 59 east junction on or after Monday, April 1. This project will replace the bridge over the South Fork of Little Raccoon Creek.
The official detour follows U.S. 231 to U.S. 36 to State Road 59 and back to S.R. 236. The roadway is scheduled to reopen October 15 of this year.
This project was awarded to Halverson Construction Co. Inc. for $1.3 million. This project also includes a small structure replacement on S.R. 59 just over 5 miles south of U.S. 36 that will occur next year.
INDOT reminds motorists to use caution and consider worker safety when driving through a construction zone.
