One Person Flown To An Indianapolis Hospital After Car/Motorcycle Crash

CAYUGA, Ind – Vermillion County Police were called to a car / motorcycle accident around 5:30 Thursday evening at the intersection of St. Rd. 234 and St. Rd 63.

Officers say that they found 67-year-old Thomas D. Ray of Lafayette lying in the Northbound lane of St. Rd 63.

Thomas suffered significant head trauma and was not wearing a helmet. He also suffered a possible fracture to his left humerus, and other injuries.

According to witnesses on scene, a vehicle driven by 40 year old Tammy Markham of Griffith, Ind entered into the intersection and that Thomas’ motorcycle struck vehicle on the passenger side and he was ejected and landed on the pavement.

Thomas was airlifted to Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis where he remains in stable condition.

Markham was issued a citation for Failure to Yield Right of Way.
