TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – A new way or Vigo County students to attend school starting this fall.
The Vigo County School Corporation is introducing the Vigo Virtual Success Academy which is a virtual school offered online through a system called Edmentum.
It offers AP classes, career development, and even electives just like a regular school.
If a student is homeschooled, homebound or needs credit recovery this could be very helpful for students who have a need to complete their education.
The school corporation pays Edmentum $1,800 for every enrolled student, but the corporation will recover over $6,000 in state funding for each student.
Students will be able to interact with staff including a principal, counselor and have access to lab space.
Last year 367 Vigo County students made use of virtual options outside of the school corporation.
A special open house will be held July 30th at 6p.m. to give you a chance to ask questions and if this is a good fit for your child, you can begin the enrollment process. Contact Principal Robin Smith at 812-462-4427 or robin.smith@vigoschools.org to set up an individual application meeting.
