Trial Underway Man Accused Of Impersonating An Officer

VIGO COUNTY, Ind. – A jury has been seated and the trial for a Terre Haute man accused of impersonating a police officer could wrap up later today.

Vigo County Deputies say that on February 10th last year, 58 year old Steve Ferree walked into the Hamilton Center wearing a coat with a sheriff’s office insignia. He allegedly identified himself as John Wilson and asked to speak with the Hamilton Center about a jail inmate.

Two members of the sheriff’s office identified Ferree using surveillance photos.
