Terre Haute, In. – The Vigo County Board of Commissioners is looking into the operations of local youth group homes following a push to address public concern. Program director Norm Loudermilk spoke at the latest commissioners meeting to directly confront what he called inaccurate rumors circulating through the community regarding the facilities’ finances and current occupancy. Loudermilk, who also heads the local Juvenile Justice Center, emphasized that these homes remain a vital, necessary service for area children who need emergency shelter and structured intervention. County officials are continuing to track the program’s budget and infrastructure needs as they adapt to changing regional juvenile care requirements.
