Terre Haute, In. – If your American flag looking a bit tattered or faded, Vigo County has a brand new solution for you. A newly installed U.S. Flag Retirement Box is open for drop-offs inside the Vigo County Annex building. Vigo County Commissioner Mark Clinkenbeard brought the idea forward after realizing how difficult it can be for residents to find a proper disposal site for damaged flags. You can find the drop box located right next to the auditor’s office. No advanced calls or appointments are necessary. Simply stop by the annex during normal business hours to drop off your flag, and local officials will ensure it is collected and retired with full honors.
