Terre Haute, In. – An inmate serving a life sentence for first-degree murder, Rodney Belvado, was found dead Monday afternoon at the United States Penitentiary in Terre Haute. According to a Federal Bureau of Prisons press release, staff discovered the 41-year-old unresponsive at approximately 3:40 p.m. Prison employees immediately initiated life-saving measures, but arriving emergency medical services personnel later pronounced him deceased. The FBI was notified of the death and they will handle the investigation. Belvado, who was sentenced in the District of Arizona, had been held at the high-security facility since September 26, 2017.
