TERRE HAUTE — The 12 Points branch of the Vigo County Public Library is expected to open in 2024, said library spokesperson Elizabeth Scamihorn during an interview for  DLC Media’s Focus on the Community program.

The interior of the former Thomas Funeral Home in 12 Points is being demolished to accommodate the needs of the new library.

One of the new areas will be a “maker’s space,” Mrs Scamihorn said:

The new library features in 12 Points were planned after Mrs. Scamihorn went door to door and asked neighboring business owners what they would like to see in the new library.

The library currently has two branches open in Terre Haute and in West Terre Haute.

The Friends of the Library is planning a sale in May to support the Vigo County Public Library’s programs.

The entire interview with Elizabeth Scamihorn will air soon on DLC Media stations and on our websites.
