On March 10 at approximately 9:36 p.m., officers responded to a car vs pedestrian accident at 13th Street and Wabash Avenue.

Upon arrival, officers spoke with witnesses and drivers and learned that a male driving a motorized bicycle north bound on 13th Street was struck by a female driving a white Dodge Charger traveling south on 13th Street Witnesses indicated that the Charger turned east onto Wabash striking the bicyclist, who had the right of way and numerous lights on. The bicyclist was transported to a local hospital before being transferred to an out of area hospital for treatment.

The driver, Emily Schwenzer, 47, of Terre Haute, was arrested for Operating a Vehicle While Intoxicated resulting in Serious Bodily Injury.
