WASHINGTON — Checks are in the mail from the federal government to you which are meant to carry many Americans for a while as the coronavirus continues to hamper the U.S. economy.

Will the $1,200 a person, if you qualify, be enough? Sen. Todd Young (R-IN) told Fox Business only time will tell.

“Let’s see how (the CARES Act) is implemented,” he said. “Let’s see what the economy and American workers need. Then we can start talking seriously about an additional piece of legislation if necessary.”

Some lawmakers are already weighing the possibility of proposing another stimulus package like the one passed last week by Congress. Young said now is the time to start honing in on China and holding them accountable for their role in the coronavirus pandemic.

“There are other countries out there, like the Chinese, who see this as an opportunity to turn a current health pandemic crisis into their own advantage,” said Young. “Largely by stealing our intellectual property.”

Young said China is misinforming the world about the severity of the virus within it’s borders. China is where the coronavirus originated from. According to the World Health Organization, China is reporting just over 81,000 people infected with the virus and over 3,000 dead.

There are more cases of the virus than that in New York state alone. The United States is reporting the most cases with over 245,000 Americans infected and 6,059 dead.
