Citizen Shot While Trying To Stop Muncie Bank Robbery

MUNCIE, Ind. — A botched robbery and a shooting inside a bank in Muncie.

A customer inside PrimeTrust Federal Credit Union tried to stop a robbery Wednesday afternoon and got shot in the leg, reported The Star Press newspaper.

The would-be robber left the bank and rode away on a BMX-style bike. He was arrested just after 1 p.m. near a trailer where he was staying, according to The Star Press. His name has not been released.

Muncie Police say the man who was shot has a “minor wound” and refused medical treatment.
