Skeletal Remains Found In Putnam County

PUTNAM COUNTY, Ind —Indiana State Police Detectives and Crime Scene Investigators are investigating the discovery of what appears to be human skeletal remains in the Van Bibber Lake area of northwestern Putnam County. The remains were found by a mushroom hunter around 1 p.m. Thursday afternoon.

Investigators will spend the next few weeks working to identify the remains.

At this time, detectives are not revealing what, if anything, they know about the age, sex, or other information about what may have been found in the area however, police are exploring the possibility the discovery may be related to a person from the area reported missing back on November 15, 2016.
