Vigo County School Board To Hold Hearing On Superintendents Contract

VIGO COUNTY, Ind – A public hearing will be held today starting at 5 p.m. on the proposed contract for the next Vigo County School Corp. superintendent.

The hearing will be held at the administration building on Wabash Avenue.

No action on the contract will be taken.

The board says that this hearing will be for public comment and that no questions will be answered by the board.

The Vigo County School Board is expected to vote on the contract, and appoint Robert Haworth as superintendent, at its June 11 meeting.

Haworth has been the superintendent for Elkhart Community Schools for the past six years.

After tonight’s hearing, board president Jackie Lower, Haworth and current superintendent Danny Tanoos will issue a statement but not take questions.

On June 4th, there will be the first meet and greet with Dr. Haworth.

Teachers can meet him between 1:00 p.m. through 3:00 p.m. and the public meeting is from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.
