Two Arrested In Connection To Drug Lace Candy Appear In Court

TERRE HAUTE, Ind – Two more people arrested in connection to Xanax laced gummies made their first court appearances Tuesday.

Police and Vigo County school officials began an investigation February 27th after a student had eaten gummy candy that had reportedly been laced with Xanax.

21 year old Orville Anderson Jr., and 20 year old Levi Dowden, are both from Terre Haute and were arrested with two others last week at a home at 2476 E. Quinn Avenue, Lot 8 in northern Vigo County. Multiple drugs and weapons were found in the hone.

Dowden faces 18 gun, drug and other charges.  He indicated that he was going to retain private council but wasn’t sure when his parents could pay for it.

Anderson faces charges of resisting law enforcement, possession of a controlled substance and other charges. He was appointed a public defender and will return to court April 3rd.

Maizie Rogers made her first court appearance on Monday, and was released after her aunt posted a $75,000 property bond.

Ware is being held on $75,000 cash only bond and will return to court April 11th.
