TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – A motion to dismiss charges against former Vigo County School Corporation Superintendent Danny Tanoos has been denied by a Marion County judge.

Police say Tanoos accepted bribes from an Indianapolis business and recommended that business to the school board for millions of dollars’ worth of projects.

Tanoos faces three counts of bribery.

His attorneys said that the charges were vague, and that Marion County was not the proper venue for the case.

The charges came as the result of the raid that took place at the school corporation’s central office in June of 2016.

Lawyers for Tanoos argued Marion County is not the proper venue for these charges.

The case is still set for a hearing on Wednesday afternoon.

Currently there is not trail date set.
