PUTNAM COUNTY, Ind — Monday night around 7:30 Indiana State Police received a call from a mother who was westbound on I-70 at the 56-mile maker who said a man pointed a gun at her.

Troopers say that the mother and her two children were passing a semi, when another motorist traveling at a high rate speed, closed in and began tailgating.

After passing the semi, the suspect in a Volkswagen Beetle, pulled alongside the woman and allegedly pointed a handgun at her.

Troopers found and stopped the vehicle at the 43-mile marker in Putnam County.

After troopers located two loaded handguns near the driver’s area they arrested 26-year-old Jonathon G. Wiseman, of Plainfield, IN.

Police say that Wiseman did have an Indiana handgun permit, but this does not authorize the permittee to indiscriminately point the weapon(s) at other citizens without just cause.
