Former Vigo County Superintendent Tanoos facing felony bribery charges

MARION COUNTY, Ind. – The former Vigo County Superintendent, Danny Tanoos, is facing felony charges of bribery.

Court records that were filed Monday in Marion County show Tanoos is facing three felony charges of bribery. One of those charges is from August of 2013, another is from July of 2014 and the third is from August of 2014.

WTHI-TV in Terre Haute reports these charges are somewhat connected to the federal investigation that involved Franklin Fennell and Frank Shahadey. They report that the FBI passed along information from their investigation to the Indiana State Police and the State Board of Accounts.

The charges claim Tanoos took bribes in exchange for awarding contracts to Energy Systems Group.

Online records show Tanoos will appear in court on Wednesday morning in Marion County. This is a developing story and will be updated when information becomes available.
