TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – The Terre Haute City Council approved a 10-year tax abatement for Pyrolyx at their Thursday night meeting.

Pyrolyx takes old tires, breaks them down into carbon black, and recycles them to be used as new tires and for other purposes.

The council also approved bonds for the company’s second facility in town.

The city has no liability for those bonds.

The company is hoping to fill 63 new jobs by fall this year.

Terre Haute is also reportedly on the list of possible sites for a United States headquarters for the company.
