NAPPANEE, Ind. — Amish Acres in Nappanee will “cease operations in 2020” after serving as an iconic Michiana destination for 50 years.

The announcement was made Friday afternoon. After five decades of making folks feel at home, owners Robert and Susan Pletcher are retiring. The 80-acre business will close after the last performance of Disney’s “Beauty and the Beast” on New Year’s Eve.

According to WNDU, Susan Pletcher said that the family is looking for a buyer, or the property could also go up for parcel auction by the spring. She hopes a passionate historian or hospitality expert takes over.
