ILLINOIS – Illinois State Police are reminding you that when you see an emergency vehicle on the side of the road you are required by law to move over.

So just this year, 14 State Police vehicles have been hit. On January 12th Trooper Christopher Lambert was killed when he was hit while responding to a crash on I-294 in northern Illinois.

If you don’t move over,  officers say that you will be ticketed.  Nearly 500 tickets have been written so far this year. That is twice as many as were written in 2018.
